Gibberellic Acid Alleviates Cadmium-Induced Seed Germination Inhibition through Modulation of Carbohydrate Metabolism and Antioxidant Capacity in Mung Bean Seedlings

چکیده
Gibberellins (GA) are the decisive players in seed germination whose functionality could be adversely affected by presence of cadmium (Cd); however, underlying mechanisms unclear. Eco-toxicological effects Cd (0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 µM) on early stages ontogenesis a mung bean variety (ML-2056) were investigated. Seed characteristics along with Cd-tolerance index recorded at seventh day germination. Additionally, endogenous gibberellic acid (GA3) level, amylase activity, oxidative stress, antioxidant defense system also investigated Cd-stressed germinating seedlings. Results revealed that reduced interfered GA synthesis concentration-dependent manner. Further, to validate role Cd-tolerance, experiments executed explore effect priming GA3 its biosynthesis inhibitor paclobutrazol (PBZ) ML-2056 under stress. Application improved activities carbohydrate-metabolizing enzymes, system, sustained lower H2O2 TBARS contents, whereas PBZ caused significant reduction growth decreased content ML-2056, suggesting crucial reversing Cd-induced negative effects. Overall, played mitigating toxicity bean, which might used as criterion for developing Cd-stress-tolerant genotypes.

Mung Bean (Vigna radiata) Seedlings'
Two forms of Fd-NADP+ oxidoreductase (FNR) isoproteins have been purified and characterized from the first foliage leaves of 5d-old mung bean (Vigna radiata). They could be separated by either Mono Q HR 515 or ferredoxin (Fd)-Sepharose 48 affinity columns. Based on immunoblot analysis and N-terminal amino acid sequences, one form resembles the FNR purified from photosynthetic tissues of higher ...
متن کاملLettuce seed germination: modulation of pregermination protein synthesis by gibberellic Acid, abscisic Acid, and cytokinin.
Protein synthesis in gibberellin-treated lettuce (Lactuca sativa) seeds has been studied during the lag phase between the beginning of imbibition and the first signs of radicle protrusion. When compared to the water-imbibed controls, both polyribosome populations and radioactive leucine incorporation into protein increase in the embryos of GA(3)- induced seeds early in the imbibition period. Si...

متن کاملSalicylic acid alleviates the cadmium toxicity in barley seedlings.
Salicylic acid (SA) plays a key role in plant disease resistance and hypersensitive cell death but is also implicated in hardening responses to abiotic stressors. Cadmium (Cd) exposure increased the free SA contents of barley (Hordeum vulgare) roots by a factor of about 2. Cultivation of dry barley caryopses presoaked in SA-containing solution for only 6 h or single transient addition of SA at ...
متن کاملInhibition of Gibberellic Acid-induced Germination by Abscisic Acid and Reversal by Cytokinins.
The germinatioil of seed can be controlled by ap)plication of exogenous hormones at physiological concenitrations. It is therefore possible that the n-atural control of germination involves an interplay of hormones, both promoters and inh,,ibitors. WXe have shown that cytokinins overcome the inhibitoryaction of several natural inhibitors in the germination of the photosensitive Grand Rapids let...
